We have been very lucky to have a young
AKC Junior Handler, Christian Rutten, help us here at Standfast. Not only has Christian handled some of our Spinone
in the breed ring, but he co-owns a few of them with us and he handles them in the AKC Junior Showmanship classes.
|
 |
Christian was the #1 Spinone Junior for 2008
and 2009 and he's off to a good start for 2011! Christian is currently ranked as the #1 Spinone Junior to date (June 30th)
and he is ranked #4 Golden Retriever Junior. Christian won his ninth and tenth classes on July 16 & 17 at the Coeur
d'Alene dog shows. His tenth win earned him an invitation to Westminster Juniors 2012.

AKC Junior Showmanship classes offer
youngsters the opportunity to: Develop their handling skills Learn about good sportsmanship Learn about dogs and dog shows.

 |
|
Juniors are important to the future
of the sport of dogs and responsible dog ownership, and the more they learn, the more valuable they become. The values, attitudes
and responsibility learned through Junior Showmanship will serve youngsters well throughout their lives. By putting time and
effort into learning about their dog and how to present it, juniors are rewarded with a win.
